Spiritual Symmetry

A captivating mind-moving video + the interesting "fusion music" of the Indian-Greek musicist Fanis Deiktakis.....
("The world is in equilibrium when the people of the East and West share their metaphysical quests in proportion. The ancient town "Gortys" (today the village of  "Agioi Deka) in Crete is the spiritual axis of symmetry between East and West.")

Endtrip

Endtrip is a visionary short film about the breathtaking mind trip of a hard drug overdosed girl. I experienced with various kind of opioids in the 1970s and I overdosed once, undergoing a total black out without any kind of visionary activity and then waking up in a hospital room.....but  this film is clearly just an artistic representation of the human passage from life to death. In any case a great, engaging example of great psychedelic 3D art....

Deal

I have never been a real Grateful Dead fan. They have been pioneers for sure and I liked their 'freak' look and attitude and their commitment to the scene and ideals of the American psychedelic culture; Jerry Garcia is still a beloved  "hippie icon" and was a talented musician like all the other members of the band, but while respecting and at times listening to their albums, I didn't consider  their music - except few masterpieces like "Dark Star" or some of their endless live jams - particularly 'trippy' or engaging....I preferred other bands and musical styles. Just personal taste...
All that said, I'm a big fan of "sex drugs and rock'n roll" anectodes of the golden years of rock and alternative culture, so I can't miss the autobio of Bill Kreutzmann, the Dead's drummer for decades. Deal: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams and Drugs with the Grateful Dead promises to be a real interesting and involving book for all music lovers and "countercultural" and "psychedelicized" people, with firsthand accounts of a special period and a special band...

Marley Natural

Bob Marley is to become the face of the world’s first international marijuana brand.
The late reggae superstar’s family has teamed up with a private equity firm to launch Marley Natural, which will offer “heirloom Jamaican cannabis strains” inspired by those Marley enjoyed.
“My dad would be so happy to see people understanding the healing power of the herb,” said Cedella Marley, Bob’s daughter. “He viewed the herb as something spiritual that could awaken our well-being, deepen our reflection, connect us to nature and liberate our creativity.”
She said Marley Natural was an “authentic way to honour his legacy by adding his voice to the conversation about cannabis and helping end the social harms caused by prohibition..."
(read more here )
(While Marley Natural can possibly be the first "international" marijuana brand, people in Colorado (USA) can already buy "cannabis filter cigarettes,", for example the Cranfords )

Elixirs, Extracts, Essences and....

Anima Mundi Apothecary is an interesting source of organic, vegan and biodynamic herbal preparations for the mind and body. If you are searching for immunotonics, antiagings, vitamins and "superfoods", purifiers or healing herbs, A.M.A. is the place to go.
Many of their natural products come from the Amazon and Costa Rica rainforest and include
Soma - an antibiotic and immunity elixir made with Reishi and Shitake mushrooms, Lions Mane and Schizandra berries
Chuchuhuasi -  an Amazon plant well known for its tonic, analgesic and aphrodisiac properties
Curam - "a powerful (anti-aging and immunotonic) blend of some of the most anti-oxidant and vitamin C rich foods on the planet" made with Turmeric root, Ginger root, Mangosteen peel, Ylang Ylang, coconut nectar etc.
Dream - a tonic that enhances deep dreaming in the body, useful for "lucid dreamers" and for those who want a dream state with more pronounced imagery and control.

Psychedelic Country Music?

Yes, in these days even country music can become "psychedelicized"....Take for example this song (and trippy video) - Turtles All the Way Down - by Sturgill Simpson, a clearly "experienced" fan of Terence McKenna and psychoactive molecules like LSD or DMT.....

Holy Bhang

Until the late eighties in Indian towns and villages  you could easily find  "government shops" which legally and traditionally sold charas (cannabis resin), and opium. "Thanks" to the pressure of  Western drug warriors, these shops have since long been closed (obviously their products are still on sale but you have to discreetly ask around now....) and currently the drug of choice of many Indians is alcohol (often of low quality), with all its well known nefarious 'side effects' (violence, sexual abuses etc.) Just one of the price tags of the global westernization I suppose...
Fortunately the little shops which sell bhang (a paste made with cannabis flowers and leaves and mixed with water, or milk or yoghurt and spices) are still open for the benefit of local population and travelers.... Bhang is traditionally drunk for relax and general well being, artistic inspiration, as an aid to meditation or simply to have a good, mellow time....Bhang is sacred to Shiva, hence is often offered in temples during particular celebrations...
