Just few days ago I was reading about the Newport Rock Festival of 1968, where Eric Burdon ( and The Animals ) - in spite of being heavily drunk (and very probably high on something) - made a memorable performance that set the audience on fire. Eric is really a legendary singer/and musician, a proud survivor of those wild times who has never lost moxie, fury and soul. With a several decades long career ( obviously with high and low moments) he has still style and something to say::I consider his latest work 'Til Your River Runs Dry among the best rock albums of 2013. Check it out to believe and in the meanwhile see this gruff, wild live version of the Stones' classic Paint it Black ... ( 1998 )
