Like a River

"Like a River" is the title track from the omonimous debut album of Jahnavi Harrison, a very inspired and talented musician in the (Hindu) kirtan (devotional songs) tradition,
The track features a refrain from the Govinda Damodara Stotram by medieval saint-poet, Srila Bilvamangala Thakur and is a meditation on protecting sacred environments internally and externally. The film features the landscape and people that live alongside the holy Yamuna River. After years of constant protest and petitioning, as of March 2015, the Indian Government has promised to make drastic changes to divert industrial waste and sewage, and restore the purity of the water.
