Terence McKenna's younger brother Dennis is one of the most renowned researchers in the field of psychoactive plants like ayahuasca and psilocybe mushrooms. In 2015 he published "The Brotherhood of the Screaming Abyss', where he tells about the two brothers' expedition in the Amazon (1971), culminating in the legendary "experiment at La Chorrera" (read also Terence's "True Hallucinations')
Dennis McKenna has recently edited "Ethnopharmacologic Search for Psychoactive Drugs", a collector's box set which includes the lectures of the eponymous symposium held in San Francisco in 1967 and the recent ethnobotanical findings presented at the 50th anniversary gathering (2017, England).
If you are intrigued by ethnobotany, sacred plants, psychedelic shamanism, etc., Dennis' new book is a great, unmissable addition to your "psychoactive bookshelf".
