Banksy's Street Art Collection


Sometimes happens that promising, provocative street artists, after becoming "famous", are in some way absorbed and exploited by mainstream "art system" and consequently 'swallowed' by the same political establishment that they initially derided and denounced. It's not the case of Banksy, probably the street artist par excellence that, although well known and even 'fashion', hasn't lost his initial subversive and destabilizing tension. Rangoli: Welcome Mat of the Gods


Throughout the predominantly Hindu country of India, a folk art has been practiced for many centuries. Known as Kolam, Muggu and Mandana (...) the art of Rangoli is created using dyed rice or sand, flour and the petals of flowers. It signifies a sacred welcoming zone for Hindu deities...
