Naga babas show




The naga baba are wandering naked holy men of India. They worship Shiva (and Dattatreya, a personification of hindu 'trimurti', Brahma, Visnu and Shiva) and traditionally participate in the various Kumbha Mela held periodically in the cities of Haridwar, Allahbad, Ujjain and Nasik. The most famous is the Maha Kumbha Mela - the Great Kumbha Mela - held every twelve years in Allahbad ( also known with the ancient holy name of Prayag), where traditionally the naga babas are the first to take bath in the most auspicious moment in the Sangam, the confluence of the three holy river Ganga, Jamuna and Sarasvati See here a video of these 'crazies of God' with an unusual and somewhat incongrous jazz soundtrack...
