Today, April 6, the festival of Vasant Navaratri (literally 'Spring nine nights') begins. It's a nine days long celebration of the Divine Mother held in India and in all hindu ashrams and temples around the world. The first three days are dedicated to Durga (or Kali), destroyer of all sins, vices and impurities; the next three days celebrate Lakshmi, who bestows wealth to her devotees and the final three days are dedicated to Saraswati, goddess of wisdom. If you have a particular feeling for the feminine aspect of God (call Him Great Spirit, Great Mistery, Shiva, Creator...you choose) this is a good period to concentrate in yourself and let the positive vibes flow...As Shri Shivananda said "... sing Her praise and repeat Her Mantra and Name. Meditate on Her form. Do worship. Pray and obtain Her eternal Grace and blessings. May the Divine Mother bless you with all divine wealth! " Jai Maha Shakti ki jay! Victory to the Great Energy!
