Franek Starowieyski, born 1930 in Bratkowka (Poland), is one of the great Polish painters and poster designers. He's also a baroque calligrapher, television and theater sconographer and, as he likes to point out, a draftsman living in the 17th century.
For a number of years he divided his time between the ateliers of Warsaw and Paris, making some 300 poster and earning the role of one of the finest representatives of the Polish school of posters.
I couldn't find his site and even finding images of his paintings and posters isn't so easy. I got some of the images below visiting the fascinating e-l-i-s-e blog...
