In 1969 John Lennon and Yoko decided to use the news of their marriage (March 20) to spread the message of world peace (at the times the war in Vietnam was still burning...) They organized the first bed-in spending a week between March 23 and 31 in a suite of the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel and inviting the world press while staying in bed singing and talking about peace, with signs of "bed peace" and "hair peace" over their bed. They continued their honeymoon with a second bed-in held in Montreal on May 26, at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel.
