So long dear Gregory

After Sugar Minott who left us few months ago, worldwide reggae fans cry the loss of another great artist: this morning Gregory Isaacs passed away at 59 at his London home following a year-long battle with lung cancer.
With an estimated 500 albums released in his career, Gregory was a true music legend together with reggae, dub and dancehall superstars like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Burning Spear.
Known by the nickname of 'Cool Ruler' by his fans, Gregory recorded his masterpiece Night Nurse at Marley's Tuff Gong Studios in 1982 and in spite of more than 50 arrests in his lifetime and a difficult battle with coke addiction throughout his career, he continued to make great innovative music until his last album Brand New Me (2008).
He will be sorely missed by all the people who loved his songs and unmistakable voice, but we all know that he has now joined the great, timeless jam up there...
R.i.P. dear Gregory...
