In 1969, he ideally brought "breakfast in bed for 400.000 people" in Woodstock, warning them about the 'bad brown acid' that was circulating there. He is the founder of the (still existing) "Hog Farm" commune, a social activist and spiritualist and - as Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir once said - "a saint in a clown suite". We're talking about Wavy Gravy (real name Hugh Romney), a true American countercultural hero who has remained loyal to the sixties humanitarian ideals all through these years. In Saint Misbehavin': The Wavy Gravy Movie, director Michelle Esrick has captured the intriguing life of this peace-loving, funny (but seriously motivated) human being.
