If you're a real 'good old times'- rock fan, you'll be delighted by these new novelties. Every Night's a Saturday Night is the exciting autobiography of Bobby Keys (b. 1943), the legendary Rolling Stones' sax player (Does Brown Sugar solo sax say something to you?) and Keith Richards' blood brother and (wild) party mate. Besides playing in historical Stones' albums like Exile on Main Street and Sticky Fingers, this Texan virtuoso played sax for people like B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Graham Nash and John Lennon (but the list is much longer...) Every Night's a Saturday Night isn't just the reading of one of the greatest rock sideman's life but also an exciting ride in modern rock'n roll history. Stone's fans and rock aficionados can't miss this book.
Another key-figure in rock history is Ginger Baker (b. 1939), drummer extraordinaire of Cream and Blind Faith. Now a documentary celebrates this great musician: Beware of Mr. Baker, directed by Jay Bulger, features interviews with Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Charlie Watts, Steve Winwood, etc. and with the 'crazy horse' Ginger himself. I hope the DVD will be on sale soon.
Meanwhile we can see the trailer...
