Ben Heine (born June 12, 1983 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast) is a Belgian multidisciplinary artist. He's known for his original series Pencil Vs Camera, Digital Circlism and Flesh and Acrylics.
In Pencil Vs Camera he skillfully mixes pencil drawings and photography, imagination and reality. Digital Circlism, a project initiated in 2010, is a synthesis of Pop Art and Pointillism, where the artist usually makes digital portraits of celebrities using flat circles on a black background. In Flesh and Acrylics Ben creates abstract acrylic paintings on large wooden panels and then a living person is integrated in the artwork, becoming part of the whole composition. When the painting is finished Ben takes pictures of it.
