Owsley and Me: My LSD Family

Owsley and Me: My LSD Family tells the love story between Rhoney Gissen Owsley and the famed underground psychedelic chemist Owsley "Bear" Stanley during the 'psychedelic revolution' of the sixties. Rhoney and Owsley met indeed in Berkeley in 1965, when acid was still legal and Owsley was already the largest American independent manufacturer of the magical molecule. Rhoney became one of Owsley's two live-in girlfriends as well as his laboratory assistant, an active member of the countercultural community and the Grateful Dead family.
Owsley's story is well known: his massive production of high quality LSD (White Lightning says you something?), his skills as a sound and light engineer for the Grateful Dead, the lab bust in 1967 and beyond,  but this time we get the whole story from (one of) his partner and from a female perspective.
All the main characters of that legendary period are obviously all present: the Dead, Ken Kesey & the Merry Pranksters, David Crosby, Bill Graham, George Harrison and so on....
Without a doubt an interesting, mind-moving reading...
Owsley Stanley died after a car accident in Australia in 2011.
Rhoney Gissen Stanley, who wrote the book together with Tom Davis, is a holistic orthodontist.
