Life for Pot

Now that medical marijuana 'concept' is ever more accepted by the public at large and the cannabis healing properties are acknowledged and studied by doctors and scientists (and even recreational use is now legal in two American states, Colorado and Washington) it seems incredible that some people are held in prison serving (sometimes multiple) life sentences, often without parole, for dealing an effective medicine. Unfortunately such people do exist: visit for example Life for Pot and learn about the horror stories that led a lot of peaceful  citizens behind bars and all the possible legal actions and petitions.
You can also get a typical example of such nightmares reading the story of William "Gringo Bill" Dekle, who got a life sentence for conspiracy to import 1,000 kilos of marijuana and another life sentence for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute those same 1,000 kilos. In case all that wasn't enough, he got four 30-year sentences for importing, on four different occasions, over 100 kilos of pot and four more 30-year sentences for possession with intent of distribute. You can read Deckle's dramatic story on High Times. and also find him here. Maybe one day all these men will be no more considered 'dangerous criminals' but benefactors of humanity, but in the meanwhile they're rotting in jail....Let's try to do something for those poor, unfortunate fellows.
