Naoto Hattori occupies a prominent position in the list of my preferred visionary artists. Anyone with a consistent experience in modified states of consciousness induced by highly visionary compounds can easily see that some of his weird creatures are very similar to the various "entities" sometimes met during strong psychedelic journeys (in particular with proper dosages of DMT...)
This can be - together with Naoto's sense of humor and irony - one of the reasons why this artist is so loved by the entheogen community (and by all the aficionados of surreal/visionary art).
