Kālī the Mother

The (Hindu) Goddess Kālī  is usually considered an evil and menacing divinity by the less informed people. She has a dark and disturbing aspect for sure, but she effetcively represents the Divine Mother in her fighting and destructive/transformative aspect. She is the consort of Shiva and represents the dynamic principle of the Universe or "shakti". She is the fiery destroyer of negative energies and attitudes, ego and illusions and the patron saint of mystical ecstasy, extreme spiritual practices, intoxicants and brakeless excesses.
